Each Café Neuro is an informal monthly gathering, where people who know what it's like to live with neurological or neuromuscular conditions can meet and chat over a cuppa.
The "people who know what it's like to live with a neuro condition" maybe have a condition themselves, or they could be a friend or relative, or someone who works in neurology, or just simply someone with an interest.
Sometimes there is a small charge for tea or coffee, but otherwise these are free. Sometimes people who work for some of the service providers join us, so people can raise issues with them if they want. But often we find that it's the others there, who can share their experiences and suggestions which is the most useful part.
In Dudley we are supported by Queen's Cross Network and the CCG. Walsall was supported by Parkinson's UK for its first six months, but is currently self-sustaining, while Wolverhampton has the support of Compton Care, Healthwatch and the CCG.
